Revathy Seelan, a graduate of Computer Science, has accepted the invitation to the next “Rector’s Coffee with a Graduate”.
In an interview with the Rector, Prof. Andrzej Rozmus, and Vice-Rector Dr. Barbara Przywara, she admitted that Poland has become her second home and that she feels deeply connected to the country.
Revathy Seelan studied at UITM, earning a degree in Computer Science, and obtained her bachelor’s degree in October 2018. She began her professional career at Indoleads as an IT Support Engineer and later worked at XTB as a Junior Specialist, providing IT level I support to non-technical external users via chat and phone. Revathy, who is Malaysian, shared over coffee with the Rector of UITM, Dr. hab. Andrzej Rozmus, Prof. UITM, and Vice-Rector of UITM for Teaching, Dr. Barbara Przywara, that Poland has become her second home. She finds the friendly community, rich culture, and lifestyle very satisfying, offering her opportunities for personal and professional development.
Professional Career of a UITM Graduate
Since July 2023, Revathy Seelan has been working at Global Message Service as a Network Operations Centre Quality Engineer, primarily dealing with anti-SPAM messages. When asked about the prospects for her industry, she replied:
„The telecommunications and network industry are experiencing rapid growth and transformation, driven by technological progress and growing global connectivity. With the development of 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing, the industry is poised for significant expansion. These innovations are expected to increase network performance, support new business models, and provide unprecedented opportunities for both businesses and consumers. The continuous evolution of telecommunications technologies promises a dynamic and promising future for the industry.„
During the meeting, Revathy Seelan also discussed the impact of her studies:
„Studies at UITM played a key role in preparing me for my professional career. A comprehensive curriculum and hands-on training provided a solid foundation in networking. The practical experience and theoretical knowledge I gained were directly applicable to my current job, enabling me to secure my position at Global Message Services and further improve myself.„
The monthly meetings of UITM graduates with the Rector’s authorities aim to maintain ties and foster cooperation in various areas, such as business lodges, workshops for students, student internships, projects, and business collaborations, as well as to develop the activities of the Alumni Club.
