Marlena Krawczyk-Suszek, Ph.D., participated in a study visit called „Leaders in University Management under POWER.” The visit took place from June 18 to 24, 2023, at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. During the training, good practices were presented as part of the cooperation of the university with the economic and scientific environment as well as in the area of commercialization of scientific research outcomes.

The purpose of the training, attended by Dr. Marlena Krawczyk-Suszek, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for the development of the Medical College, was to enhance the management skills of staff from Polish universities. This was achieved by learning valuable practices in the following areas:

– university consolidation,

– cooperation with the socio-economic environment,

– development of new educational methods and competencies for students and academic staff,

– cooperation between universities and research institutes,

– internationalization of universities,

– commercialization of research results and university models,

-development of key competencies of the university.

The distinguished scientific group of the study visit, representing the leading universities in Poland, was a perfect place to exchange their observations and views, as well as intensive and creative discussions on the possibility of introducing some solutions in Polish conditions. Places such as „Open Space” or the Maxwell Center operating at the University of Cambridge delight. They are equipped with the most modern research infrastructure, where scientists from various fields can work together indefinitely on new projects and implementations of solutions to the socio-economic environment. Study visits are a great opportunity to learn the rules of operation and domestic and international cooperation conducted at other leading universities – says Dr. Marlena Krawczyk-Suszek.

The University of Cambridge, established in 1209, is the second oldest English-speaking university in the world, following the University of Oxford.
