The official Inauguration of Academic Year 2019/2020 for studies in English at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów took place on October 11th 2019 in the hall named after prof. Jerzy Chłopecki.
Young people from all around the world joined the UITM academic community during the official inaugural ceremony. They will follow English language courses in Aviation Management, General Aviation, International Management, Logistics in Transport as well as several IT specialties.
UITM is one of the most internationalized universities in Poland and the diverse educational offer attracted hundreds of students from over 50 countries this year, including India, Morocco, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Turkey, Germany, USA, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, Lebanon and Greece. More and more Poles are choosing English-language studies and they also took the oath together with their colleagues from other countries.
The inaugural ceremony was started by the Vice-Rector for Science, prof. Agata Jurkowska – Gomułka, who welcomed students on behalf of the University Leadership. Professor Jurkowska together with dr Izabela Cichocka, Director of the Center for International Studies, led the Matriculation Ceremony of newly admitted students.
The inaugural lecture 'Responsible leadership during hectic times’ was given by Sylwia Mazur, who works with students on a daily basis as both a lecturer and Rector’s Plenipotentiary for disciplinary issues for students of English-language courses.
The freshmen were also welcomed by second-year students from India, Santosh Mantripragada and Vietnam, Doung Nguyen. In very warm words, they encouraged them to join science clubs and to engage in all university initiatives.
