Next week we will celebrate 25th anniversary of our University.
The University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów celebrates 25th anniversary. Our university was established on March 8, 1996. Initially it operated under Rzeszów School of Managers and the Association for Promotion and Entrepreneurship. The main founder of the university was Prof. Tadeusz Pomianek, Ph.D., D. Sci., Assoc. Prof, currently the President of our university.
From the very beginning, the university authorities put emphasis on the highest quality of education. Therefore, they prepared students to operate on challenging labor market. What is more, UITM’s priority was also the development of scientific research. Moreover, very important was a cooperation with business and local government for the development of whole Podkarpackie region.
In 1996, UITM students could choose one of only three programmes. Today we have four Faculties – Medical, Management, Applied Computer Science and Media and Social Communication. We offer 17 fields of study on Polish and English-language paths. UITM is constantly developing. As a result it is the largest private university in Podkarpackie. The university successfully combines traditions with modernity and multiculturalism. Currently, over 6,000 people study here. We have nearly 1,500 international students from over 50 countries.
The 25th anniversary of the university falls on an unfavorable time of the pandemic. Due to the epidemiological situation, participation in the celebration of the university’s jubilee is possible only via online broadcast. The main event of the jubilee celebrations will be the session of the Senate and the UITM Convention on March 8, 2021.
On this day, we will also open an electronic photo exhibition „UITM yesterday and today”, documenting the development of the university over the past 25 years. In addition, on the university’s website and the anniversary website, we will publish greetings for the Jubilee. Additionally, there will be presentation of the movie prepared by Dr. Łukasz Błąd. Moreover, we are also planning the premiere of the UITM Digital Chronicle.
