The University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów supports the postulates contained in the Manifesto 100 Days for Polish Nature and Climate.
In this document, the Climate Coalition, together with 53 climate, environmental and social organizations, call on election committees to declare that within the first 100 days of being in power, they will take the first 16 key decisions for environmental and climate protection, including starting work on the adoption of the act on climate.
The organizations signed to the Manifesto expect that the activities of the future government in the field of climate and nature protection will be carried out simultaneously on various levels, at the fastest possible pace, according to the highest democratic standards, and respecting the latest scientific knowledge in these fields. The Climate Coalition points out that Polish nature is a common good of all citizens of the country, and climate protection – a joint responsibility of the global community and an opportunity to improve security for all of us and future generations. Regardless of the election outcome, the new government must implement urgent nature and climate action on behalf and in the interest of all citizens.
Support for the Manifesto by the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów is part of the University’s policy of care for sustainable development and implementation of solutions for climate and ecological security, which is reflected, among others, in the UITM Sustainable Development Strategy. As emphasized by the President of the University, dr hab. Eng. Tadeusz Pomianek, prof. UITM: Today, every institution and individual should get involved in climate and environmental protection. I believe that this is our duty, our commitment not only to the planet but above all to future generations.

The Climate Coalition is an agreement of 27 non-governmental organizations involved in climate protection activities. The coalition partners are organizations from all over Poland, with various profiles, from research to education. The coalition jointly carries out a variety of activities, from monitoring legislative work at the national and European levels, through organizing conferences and workshops for various recipients – representatives of business, officials, deputies, and journalists, to educational activities aimed at children and youth. The goal is to convince all these groups of the need to reduce our negative impact on the environment, reduce emissions and develop a sustainable, „green” economy, energy efficient, using energy from renewable sources as much as possible.
