The second edition of Aviation Career Day organized by the Aviation Management Club and the UITM Career Office was held on 1st February 2019. Representatives of many companies, i.a. EME AERO, LOT AMS, LINETECH, Pratt & Whitney and Safran Transmission Systems Poland held meetings with students willing to work in the aviation industry.

Aviation Career Day proved to be a great success of organizers, measured easily by the scale of interest among young people. This intensively developing industry attracts more and more students and employees of other companies, ready for a career change and new challenges. The UITM, whose slogan is – we teach in a practical way – has been working for many years as a link between the well-educated, the young and the most thriving employers in the region.

Paweł Szymanek, Head of the Line Service at LOT AMS, which is part of the Polish Aviation Group, said that they are willing to employ nearly 1,000 people in the LOT base service, which will be built in the Jasionka Airport neighbourhood. 

We will start recruiting in autumn 2019. We are looking for a lot of people, such as logisticians, managers, certified mechanics or engineers. In the near future 150 people will find work in our new base. We are looking for candidates in various schools and of different specialisations. The UITM has a great reputation and we hope to find future employees here. – said Mr Szymanek.

Magda Bukała – a UITM graduate in economics – found a job at LOT AMS and moved to Warsaw. She assures, though, that when the new base starts operating, she will return to Rzeszów.

An interesting presentation was given by Aleksandra Szafraniec, HR Director from EME AERO, who offered, among others, 6-month paid internships in the field of logistics, IT, HR finance or in the Training Centre. The company EME AERO is a joint venture of Lufthansa Technik AG and MTU Aero Engines AG. It is the most modern centre for aircraft engines maintenance. At present, it employs 140 people and is still growing.

Agnieszka Kot from LINETECH assured that they focus on talents’ development and that they are looking intensively for young people to work in the company which has been operating in Jasionka for four years now.

We came to UITM to present our company and recruit new employees. Aviation does not only mean technical staff, mechanics and pilots, but also support employees, e.i. those working in logistics, planning or documentation.

When asked about the basic criterion, Agnieszka Kot said:

English. This is our main criterion. English is the first language in our company, and the University of Information Technology and Management educates students in English. We are looking for such people.

LINETECH is an active service base for Lufthansa, TUI, EasyJet and Swiss, capable to provide service for up to 6 aircraft at the same time.
