Global Entrepreneurship Week behind us!

From November 18 to 24, 2024, UITM hosted exceptional events organized by the FLOW, ERC, and LB-Leading in Business scientific clubs as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. Each day offered students unique experiences focused on developing entrepreneurial competencies, practical learning, and inspiring encounters.

Day 1: Roll & Play
The first day began with the educational game „Roll & Play,” which allowed students to gain knowledge about investing and international financial markets in a lighthearted and engaging format. Participants competed in teams, playing popular board games such as Panic on Wall Street and CashFlow. Members of the scientific clubs ensured a welcoming atmosphere, bilingual translations, and lots of fun. It was a perfect combination of learning, integration, and competition.

Day 2: Pitch Perfect – Speak & Spark
The second day focused on public speaking skills and presenting business ideas to potential investors. The „Pitch Perfect – Speak & Spark” workshop was conducted in two languages: in English by Michalina Mróz, MA, and in Polish by Jakub Boratyn. Participants learned how to overcome stage fright, speak with confidence, and present their business ideas convincingly.

Day 3: #MadeByUITM
The highlight of the Global Entrepreneurship Week was the #MadeByUITM discussion panel, moderated by Michalina Mróz, MA, Director of the Technology and Entrepreneurship Transfer Center at UITM. The panel featured distinguished alumni of our university, representing various forms of entrepreneurship:

  • Freelancer: Jakub Głogowski – a marketer and photographer, founder of a marketing agency, who demonstrated how passion can become a source of income.
  • Entrepreneur: Joanna Hostyńska – CEO of Skills Evolution and HR Manager at Concise Software International, an expert in future skills, managerial careers, and artificial intelligence.
  • Entrepreneur: Justyna Kot – CMO of Skills Evolution, owner of the UNICATS brand, a marketing specialist, advertising enthusiast, and trainer in marketing competencies.
  • Startup Founder: Paweł Janda – CEO of Mobitouch sp. z o.o and founder of SoDA, an expert in innovative technologies, mobile applications, and integrated AI solutions.

The panelists shared their experiences and practical advice for young people interested in starting their own businesses. The discussion was conducted in English, and the diversity of student backgrounds added a multidimensional aspect to the conversation. Emphasis was placed on the importance of skills such as relationship building, self-motivation, and proactivity, which are crucial in running a business.

All three events were met with enthusiastic reception, and students expressed interest in participating in future editions. Invited guests praised the innovation of the initiatives, highlighting their key role in fostering entrepreneurship among young people.

Thanks to the involvement of the scientific clubs and their mentors, as well as the academic patronage of the UITM Department of Entrepreneurship and the Technology and Entrepreneurship Transfer Center, GEW 2024 at the University of Information Technology and Management proved to be a success, inspiring further efforts to develop and support entrepreneurial potential.
