By developing culture and civilization, humanity has incurred a large loan towards the planet Earth. However, the time has come to start repaying our liabilities – we can no longer live in the way we have been doing so far, closing our eyes to the state of the environment and the quality of life of future generations.
„Sustainable development is development in which the needs of the present generation can be met without compromising the opportunities of future generations to meet them” – this is a sentence from the Report of the World Commission on Environment and Development of 1987. „Our common future” should become a motto and a point of reference for all social activities. We also keep them in mind at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów when carrying out our educational, business and social activities. Sustainable development requires effort and activity in many areas – also in higher education, which is responsible for educating and promoting appropriate role models among young people.”

We can still save our civilization! Instead of a helpless march to hell, we are able to save ourselves and the future of our children and grandchildren, thus returning to the lost „Paradise”.
I invite you to my green blog, which is dedicated to the existential threats facing humanity. Our main civilization challenges are not only global warming, but also environmental degradation and the problem of waste. Undoubtedly, the fight to save the world from a climate catastrophe is extremely important, but it is only a necessary condition for our survival. It is underestimated how devastating the ongoing process of environmental degradation, including the loss of biodiversity, is. I believe that even if we achieve climate neutrality and do not restore the balance in nature, our civilization will perish, only in a slightly colder environment. Therefore, together with invited experts, we will present to you the essence of this problem.
