An international tournament of tricky riddles, a meeting with Ukrainian art, a multicultural talk show hosted by a UITM student from Iran and a presentation of Easter myths from around the world – these are the attractions of the second edition of the Melting Pot student festival organized by the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów in the IQ Club.

Melting Pot – it is literally a heat-resistant vessel in which various substances melt and mix, and in a less literal sense it is simply a melting pot of cultures. This term was used by student Mieczysław „Mitch” Moneta – a Pole raised in the United States – after arriving to study in Rzeszów, describing the social environment of New York and….. our university.

I came to study and it turned out that I had more Polish friends in America than here – Mitch noticed with surprise, and the phrase he used became an inspiration to coin the name of the new event – Melting Pot Festival.

UITM is a university where students from dozens of countries around the world, probably from five continents, acquire knowledge. Not only do they learn, but they develop their passions and pursue their artistic pursuits every day, functioning in a multicultural environment. This creates a fantastic mix of worldviews, religions, artistic sources and views on the world and people. Without a doubt, what emerges from this melting pot is worth showing to a wider audience – says Dr. Łukasz Błąd, artistic director of IQ Club.
