Over Five Years of Cooperation Between UITM and UTT

The cooperation between the University of Transport Technology in Hanoi and the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów began more than five years ago, focusing primarily on academic and IT staff exchange. In 2022, a UITM delegation visited UTT and took part in the opening ceremony of the new academic year.

The UTT delegation visited UITM in the first week of November. The university was represented by:

  • Dr Thanh An Tran – Vice-Rector of UTT,

  • Dr Chi Luan Le – Faculty of Information Technology,

  • Dr Quoc Tuan Tran – Faculty of Applied Sciences,

  • Mr Dac Hoang Dao – Institute of Training and International Cooperation.

“We are very happy to have an academic partner in Vietnam with a long-standing tradition of educating specialists in Poland. In the past, this cooperation was driven by political ties, but today it is rooted in academic and business collaboration. We visited UTT a few years ago to outline the direction of our partnership, and now they are visiting us to summarise our joint achievements and to start a new double degree project,”

said Magdalena Louis, Director of Recruitment and International Cooperation.

Meeting with UITM Authorities

The delegation from UTT in Hanoi was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Andrzej Rozmus, PhD, Rector of UITM, who expressed his hope that the guests’ journey to Poland and Rzeszów was pleasant. The Rector emphasised his satisfaction with the long-term partnership, describing this meeting as both a confirmation and a step towards expanding the collaboration.

The meeting was also attended by:

  • Dr Barbara Przywara, Vice-Rector for Education,

  • Assoc. Prof. Konrad Szocik, PhD, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation,

  • Dr Eng. Izabela Cichocka, Vice-Dean of the College of Management,

“Our cooperation with UTT in Hanoi opens opportunities in many areas, both educational and scientific. In terms of education, we are working towards creating a joint double degree programme in Aviation Management. Under this system, UTT students would complete part of their studies in Vietnam and part in Poland. We also discussed potential research collaboration in the fields of smart cities, sustainable development, and sustainable transport, as well as academic staff exchanges between our institutions,”

said Assoc. Prof. Konrad Szocik, PhD, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation.

During their visit, the UTT delegation also met with Vietnamese students currently studying at UITM.
