The 12th installment of the National Reading event has concluded, marking yet another successful chapter in the promotion of national literature in Poland.
This initiative is held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland. This year, „On the Niemnem” by Eliza Orzeszkowa captured the hearts of readers all across the nation. Among the audience in Rzeszow was the Rector of UITM, Ph.D. Andrzej Rozmus, prof. UITM shared his interpretation of this novel.
The National Reading event in Rzeszów unfolded amidst the serene setting of the Bernardine Gardens. Konrad Fijołek, the mayor of Rzeszów, Krystyna Stachowska, the vice president of Rzeszów, and Dr. Hab. Andrzej Rozmus, Prof. UITM, the rector of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, among others, all read parts of the book.
The „National Reading” campaign has been organized by the President of the Republic of Poland since 2012. It was initiated by President Bronisław Komorowski with a joint reading of „Pan Tadeusz” by Adam Mickiewicz. During the next editions, the readings included: „Trylogy” by Henryk Sienkiewicz, „Lalka” by Bolesław Prus, and „Balladyna” by Juliusz Słowacki.
The 12th National Reading event in Rzeszów was not just a gathering of literary enthusiasts; it was a testament to the enduring power of literature to bring communities together and ignite a shared passion for culture and knowledge.
