Almost 90% of classes at the University of Information Technology and Management are conducted online, ensuring maintained contact between lecturers and students in real-time. What’s more is, from March 26th diploma exams were also held remotely.

Our online teaching system, Blackboard Collaborate is one of the best in the world. For many years we have been conducting online classes using the Collaborate tool on the Blackboard platform. The American Blackboard Learn platform (version 9.1) is one of the most extensive educational platforms in the world, it also functions as a mobile version, available for both Android and IOS. In addition to standard text communication, this platform also enables voice and video communication and allows interactive discussion with others. It allows you to participate IN REAL time in the classes as well as passing the exams, tests or even doctorate defending. A large part of the classes are conducted from lecturers’ homes, and students use their tablets or smartphones.

We educate practically regardless of the current situation

Online classes at UITM began three days after the announcement by the Polish Government of the need to suspend classic didactic classes in universities due to the risk of coronavirus spreading. Already over the first weekend of March 14-16, more than 80% of all planned classes were conducted online. At the end of April, this average is almost 90%, and 92% of online classes are scheduled for May.

From March 26, diploma exams were also held online in synchronous mode. All sessions are recorded and remain in the resource pool of the Blackboard platform. Almost 200 diploma exams have already taken place via the Blackboard system.

Online open classes for student candidates are also held online. From May, high school graduates will have the opportunity to take part in the classes of their choice – just sit in front of the computer and click on the provided link to feel like a real student. Thanks to this solution, it is easier for high school graduates to make a decision about choosing the direction in which they plan to tie their future.

We study online – effectively and conveniently!

„Dear Students of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów. Our priority is to provide you with the closing of this academic year with a complete set of exams and credits. We have launched the necessary procedures to make it possible even with a prolonged epidemic situation. The University leadership bodies have decided to allocate additional funds from their own budget to ensure patency of education and offer their students educational services at the highest possible level. We are all in the same boat and all of us have a responsibility to look after the UITM academic community. I am convinced that we will survive these hard times together.”

„Dear Community of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów. The functioning of universities in the world in these times looks completely different than just a few months ago. Despite the limitations related to coronavirus and the need for remote classes, we hope that in October newly admitted students will be able to see the university life, including several dozen highly specialized laboratories, a sports hall, an academic club and of course our charming campus located in Kielnarowa, to which we deliver students by our own transport. However, if life writes a different scenario and learning still has to take place remotely – I assure you that we will also be prepared for such a challenge.”
