Athletes from KU AZS UITM successfully represented the university during the Academic Championships of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The competitors took 2nd and 3rd place in sports climbing, as well as 8th place in chess.
October 21 this year competitors of the University Club of the Academic Sports Association at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów (KU AZS UITM) took part in the Academic Championships of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship in sports climbing. The university was represented by: Karolina Rząsa, Dominik Barłóg, Artemii Snitko, Nikita Riabshii and Dmytrii Zherebstov.
The competition took place on the climbing wall of the Rzeszów University of Technology. The team performed great and ultimately finished the tournament in third place in the medal classification. Additionally, Karolina Rząsa won the silver medal in the individual classification.
November 26 this year The Podkarpackie Voivodeship Academic Chess Championship was held at UITM. 45 players took part in the competition, 18 of whom were classified in the international ranking. The main referee was Marian Bysiewicz, well known in the chess community. The university was represented by three teams:
- UITM I composed of: Nyasha Marerwa, Konrad Maślanka, Ruben Badalya;
- UITM II composed of: Jakub Tokarski, Ruslan Nuraskhan, Konstiantyn Buchak;
- UTIM III composed of: Denys Sheletrytskyi, Dmytrii Zherebtsow, Kamil Flis.
Nyasha Marerwa, who started with zero points in the ranking, ultimately placed 8th in the individual classification.
