PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

Start For Future (SFF) is a rapidly growing European alliance for innovation that integrates academia, startups, industry, and public institutions. It is currently one of the fastest-developing alliances of its kind in Europe.

The goal of SFF is to foster systemic and inclusive innovation through collaboration within the so-called Knowledge Triangle (academia – business – public sector), supporting the development and commercialization of breakthrough technologies.

As part of this collaboration, the START program was created – a pan-European initiative supporting academic entrepreneurship and innovation development through close cooperation between universities, startups, industry, and the public sector.

Start For Future – START Program

Funding institution: Start For Future consortium (coordinated by the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship, Germany) – funded under European programs (Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, EIT HEI Initiative).

UITM’s role: Academic partner (Department of Entrepreneurship and the Center for Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship at UITM)

Project description:

START is a 10-week online incubation program aimed at students and young researchers who want to transform their ideas into real business solutions. The program includes workshops on team building, idea validation, prototyping, sustainability, and pitch preparation. Participants benefit from the support of international mentors and business coaches.

Thanks to UITM’s cooperation with SFF, students can develop entrepreneurial skills in an international environment, receive professional support in working on their own startups, and build a network within the European innovation ecosystem.

Expected outcomes: Development of entrepreneurial competencies among WSIiZ students, increased employability, and commercialization of selected student projects within international incubation frameworks.
