Students of Game Design and Development representing the „Hexateam” team were among the TOP 5 best teams in Poland in the Team Computer Game Development competition. The organizer of the fifteenth edition of the competition was the Lodz University of Technology.

The “Hexateam” comprised Angelika Prędka, Marek Wawrzak, Igor Jajuga, and Mateusz Seredyński (students of computer graphics and multimedia production at UITM), along with Artur Szałyga (a student from Rzeszów University of Technology), the Hexateam presented their captivating game titled „Teethcarnation” during the competition.

„Teethcarnation” delves into the concept of clinical death, exploring the challenges faced by individuals experiencing such phenomena through a captivating „demon fight” narrative. The game’s objective is to defeat all opponents, solve puzzles, and ultimately return to reality. As players progress through increasingly difficult levels, they unveil their own stories – says Angelika Prędka, one of the game’s creators who expressed satisfaction with the final result and highlighted the unique process behind its development. She further highlights the remarkable achievement of the Hexateam, emphasizing that the team members had only met a month before the competition. Despite the limited time available, they successfully created a game project that not only reached the finals in Łódź but also stood out in terms of quality. The project’s ability to shine amidst the competition, despite the time constraints, is a testament to the team’s talent and dedication.

The Team Game Development Competition, initially launched in 2008 by the Institute of Computer Science at the FTIMS Faculty of Lodz University of Technology, continues to provide a platform for aspiring game developers. The competition welcomes participants who have enrolled in key subjects encompassing various aspects of computer game development, such as Game Engine Programming, Computer Game Programming, Graphic Card and Console Programming, Computer Simulation Technologies, Real-Time Rendering, and Software Project Management.
