UITM Commemorates International Day with a Spectacular Outdoor Event
The most international event in the South-east part of Poland.
The performance of the African choir „International Voices”, Moroccan belly dance, Indian folk dance Aaja nachle and a show of traditional costumes from different parts of the world – this was International Day at the UITM
UITM, recently marked its International Day with a grand celebration. Following the success of last year’s Africa Day event, this year’s festivities were designed to foster cultural exchange and unity among students from various nationalities. Participants from ten different countries, including Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India, Morocco, Tajikistan, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, eagerly took part in this joyous occasion.
“As of today, we have a remarkable number of students from over 50 countries studying here at UITM, which is truly a great achievement for all of us. It presents a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange, as people from different backgrounds bring their unique senses of humor and perspectives. I sincerely hope that you all thoroughly enjoy today’s event, as it has been meticulously organized by students, for students. The event commenced with a captivating introduction of representatives from each nation, who were welcomed on stage one by one. The audience which included UITM staff, students and alumni were completely absorbed as each group showed their colorful traditional dances, leaving everyone amazed and the atmosphere was full of energy, with a strong sense of togetherness and friendship among students from different countries. It turned out to be a truly memorable event as students danced, sang, and played musical instruments, crossing boundaries and embracing unity. Particularly impressive were the African students, captivating the audience with their elegant moves, accompanied by the enchanting voices of performers from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Poland, and Africa.
Besides the captivating performances, the celebration featured a delicious variety of international cuisine and refreshing beverages. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy different flavors from around the world, enhancing their immersion in global cultures. Following the festivities, an unforgettable after-party was organized, where students continued to bond and celebrate their shared experiences.
The Students International Day at UITM was a great success, reflecting the university’s dedication to promoting cultural understanding and unity among its diverse students. With captivating performances, delicious food, and joyful celebrations, the event will surely be remembered by all who were present. UITM sets a commendable example by embracing cultural diversity and fostering an inclusive environment where students from around the world can thrive and succeed.
Notable Highlights

- Traditional costumes from various countries, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and India, were presented, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn about different cultural attire and their significance.
- Nurangez Bakhrieva from Tajikistan shared insights into the traditional costumes of the Pamir region, highlighting the unique features and symbolism of the outfits.
- Aneena Jesudas showcased the traditional Indian costume, known as a sari, explaining its vibrant colors, intricate embroidery, and the use of jewelry to adorn the body.
- Students from Zimbabwe and Kazakhstan shared their cultural dances and the significance of these dances in their respective countries’ celebrations and traditions.
- Following the performances, participants had the chance to learn the Zimbabwean dance „Takata Express,” further enhancing the cross-cultural experience.
UITM currently hosts nearly 1,400 international students from various countries, offering a wide range of academic programs, including Aviation Management, International Business Management, IT, Nursing, and Social Work.
