After several months of learning and passing exams online, students of Computer Graphics and Multimedia Production, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Cosmetology and also people continuing their education in the Centre of Postgraduate Studies returned to the UITM campuses. On Saturday, June 20th, we restored part of the classes – exercises and laboratory – in a traditional form, without compromising the requirement of security measures.
We have introduced procedures to protect students and employees of the University during the epidemiological threat. It is recommended to keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters between people, to cover mouth and nose and regularly disinfect hands. We have installed hand sanitizer dispensers at both Campuses. Everyone entering the university must complete a health declaration.
Lecture rooms should be entered individually, maintaining the required distance, and while staying in the room students should still cover their mouth and nose. After 60 minutes of every lecture, rooms are ventilated and after each group thoroughly disinfected.
The UITM Rector, Wergiliusz Gołąbek, issued a special statement:
We have been receiving worrying information about the possibility of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic this autumn. Therefore we have introduced some extra safety measures and we will be very careful in lifting the current restrictions. The pandemic situation in Poland and in other countries is being monitored very closely and if any change occurs, we will react accordingly.
In the meantime, please follow strictly all the rules University has introduced and I do hope that if we all of us act responsible, this difficult and challenging situation soon be over.
