On 7th-8th of November 2019, the Institute for Financial Research and Analyses based on the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów has organized the international scientific seminar “International Science Exploration Event (ISEE) 2019: Supporting entrepreneurship by local authorities in Poland, Slovak Republic and Estonia. Entrepreneurship in a regional perspective. The function of institutions, innovation, history and LGUs support”.
Among the speakers of the seminar, there were representatives of international universities, including prof. Michael Fritsch (Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany), prof. Tomasz Mickiewicz (Aston University, United Kingdom), prof. Tonis Mets (University of Tartu, Estonia), prof. Anna Pilkova (Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia), prof. Przemysław Zbierowski (King’s College London, United Kingdom). All speeches concerned the subject of entrepreneurship in aspects corresponding to the scientific specializations of academic representatives. During the presentations, speakers presented the results of the research conducted. The closing remarks and insights were discussed during the round table debate.
The two-day event referred to the issues of supporting economic initiatives by local authorities at the local level and focused on the dissemination of research results on the international forum. The „ISEE 2019” seminar was aimed at highlighting the causative factors of entrepreneurship and its role in the regional perspective, and creating a platform connecting entrepreneurship with local development, so that in the future it could result in cooperation between representatives of science and local government units.
