Students’ Life in Rzeszow
„Living in Rzeszów is really affordable. I share an apartment with two friends and we pay €200 per month. Food is also cheap, I can eat a meal at the university cafeteria for €2.50. Overall, I’d say I spend around €500-€600 per month. I was surprised by how low the living costs are in Rzeszów. I can buy groceries for €20-€30 per week. It is one of the most significant expenses, but in Rzeszów, they are quite manageable. Renting a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can cost around 1,500 PLN per month, while outside the center, it drops to about 1,200 PLN. For students or those looking to save, shared accommodation is a budget-friendly option and is a popular and even more affordable option.
Groceries
In Rzeszów daily necessities are also reasonably priced. A monthly grocery bill can range from 500 PLN to 800 PLN, depending on lifestyle. There is an endless list of grocery stores like Biedronka, Auchan, Lidl, Frac. Dining out is another affordable pleasure; you can enjoy a meal at a mid-range restaurant for about 30-50 PLN.
Transportation
Rzeszów is very convenient when it comes to transportation. You can easily get from one point to another using a public bus. Ticket prices are low, with a monthly public transport pass costing around 100 and 70 PLN for students. For those who prefer cycling, the city is bike-friendly with numerous paths. Additionally, UITM has a free shuttle bus that transports students to our second campus in Kielnarowa. What is more, students can also use Bolt or Freenow, which works similarly to as taxi but offers lower prices. For example, taking a Bolt from the city center to our main campus in Rzeszów costs 8-15 PLN which is 2-3,5 Euro.
Activities in Rzeszow
Rzeszów offers plenty of activities that do not have to be expensive. Stroll through the Old Town and enjoy the historical architecture, visit the Rzeszów Castle, or spend a day at Lubomirski Palace. For nature lovers, the Lisia Góra Park provides a peaceful escape. For arriving students it may be a surprise but in Rzeszów there is a lake and a small beach called Żwirownia Rzeszów, where citizens can catch some rays during sunny days. The city is also home to various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, many of which are free or inexpensive. Rzeszów is also known as a perfect place for spending time actively and visiting the climbing wall, trampoline park, dance classes, gym, art workshops, bowling, and many more.
