Graduation animations

The second animated film in this part is the work of Klaudia Kudła. This is the story of the Unconscious Lamprant, who, chasing a magpie, falls into a place of old worship, where people worshiped death during their extermination, accidentally waking up the Voice from his sleep.

Animated films by UITM lecturers
At the end, you will be able to see two animations by WSIiZ lecturers Dr. Mikołaj Birk and MA Patrycja Wilczyńska. Patrycja Wilczyńska’s film „The Collector” is an animated film made as part of her master’s thesis at the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. It tells about the effects of consumerism and surrounding ourselves with an excess of electronic devices. This is a common phenomenon, driven by corporations, social media, and society itself. As a result, we generate huge amounts of electronic waste, which will remain in the world incomparably longer than the period of their use.

“Tory” is the first animated film made by Dr. Mikołaj Birek. The animation, dating back to his student days, is an impressionistic, metaphorical story about a journey through life. A lonely man boards a train on an abandoned railway platform, setting off on a monotonous but abruptly ending journey. “Tory” is a film made using a technique that combines cut-out computer animation and elements drawn with charcoal on paper. Dr. Birek is also the author of the soundtrack. The film was created in response to the death of the author’s grandmother. It has won several awards and has been presented at film and animation festivals in Poland.

A screening of the animations by students and lecturers from WSIiZ and a meeting with the authors will take place on November 9th at 3:00 p.m. at the Za Rogiem Cafe Cinema.

Opening of the exhibition of film posters by Dr. Hab. Patrycja Longawa, prof. WSIiZ, will take place in the lobby of the Zorza Cinema on November 8th at 7:00 p.m.
The idea of the event is to reach for the most interesting productions located in the conventional belt north and south of Podkarpacie. Films from Scandinavian countries, Baltic countries, south-eastern European countries or the Balkans – „Film Meetings” are to show award-winning and appreciated productions that are often not found in cinema repertoires.

The event is organised by the Voivodeship House of Culture in Rzeszów.
