Patrycja Nawojska and Jakub Kozowski took first place in the International Artistic Competition „UITM got Talent.” Patrycja Nawojska is a computer graphics and multimedia production student, and her stage partner Jakub Kozowski is a professionally active musician. The duo won the competition by performing a „Jazz medley” and topped 13 other talented artists.

This year’s edition unfolded on December 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the IQ Club. The jury, comprising Monika Szela (director of the Maska Theatre), Dominika Kindrat (session vocalist, voice trainer, founder of Dominika Kindrat Vocal Studio), and Michał Samborski (Breakdance and Funkstyles dance instructor, street dance promoter in Rzeszów, founder of the „Street Life” dance school). Aside from the top three positions, they also granted four well-deserved distinctions.

Patrycja Nawojska expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, „Winning is a beautiful appreciation of the effort put into our entire musical journey, which did not start yesterday. The reward was our joint performance for such a wonderful audience. The level of performance and commitment of all participants were very high, the audience had great energy, and they supported all participants very much that is why until the last second before the results were announced, we did not know what to expect, the jury had a very difficult choice „.

Together with Jakub Kozłowski, a professionally active musician who plays double bass and bass guitar, they performed a „Jazz medley”. “Jakub graduated from the jazz department in Rzeszów and is currently studying at the Academy of Music in Katowice. We performed a „Jazz medley”, a combination of songs in a jazz style. We chose songs that we enjoy performing, but also ones that the audience might know and get involved in,” explains the student.

Reflecting on the journey of the past ten editions, Dr. Łukasz Error, the Artistic Director of IQ Club and organizer of „UITM got Talent,” shared, „10 editions include 10 castings, 10 finals, but also a concert on the Rzeszów market square, concerts UITM  got Talent for Christmas and UITM got Talent and Love and several dozen other events during which the artists selected in the competition presented themselves. Many of them now run professional artistic activities, they are instructors, but personal and artistic friendships have also been established. During this year’s finale, the winners of previous editions also performed and their joy at returning to the IQ Club stage is always very moving. Let me remind you that after our competition was established, similar ones were organized by PRz and UR, so it was a strong impulse for student cultural activities in Rzeszów. The art section is also developing beautifully – this year a record number of works in very different techniques – computer graphics, traditional and digital painting, drawing, sculpture, icons, painted skateboards, clothing design, handicraft, painted porcelain – in short, a wealth of talents”

As we celebrate the success of „UITM got Talent,” we look forward to more years of discovering and nurturing the diverse talents within our community.
