Erasmus Story UITM

I’m so happy that now I know about such a great exchange programme as Erasmus +. I believe that it is a really useful program for students to develop themselves, to get to know new people, find friends, and build a foundation for their future career.

I’ve heard a lot about this program from my friends and decided to try to participate in it too. I found out that there are two ways of Erasmus+: study and internship. I first chose an internship in some European country. My choice fell to Greece, a country with incredible landscapes and the most beautiful beaches. I worked at the hotel as an assistant on reception. To work at the front office means to be a link between the guests and all the departments of the hotel. I felt a great responsibility, but I liked it. During the internship, I improved my English knowledge and communication skills; I discovered my personal qualities that I did not even know about.

Of course, it wasn’t only about work, it was also about discovering great history through tours, Greek myths, music, food and many other interesting things. I have travelled to a beautiful and historical city Athens, to students and modern city Thessaloniki, to traditional and cosy Greek village Afitos. I had an amazing summer and that experience will always be in my memory.

Also, one of the main points – Erasmus blurs the boundaries between nationalities, between religions, ages and all other characteristics. You meet so many different people from all over the world and become friends with them, speak the same languages, learn different cultures. It helps you become a person of the world, It expands horizons of your mind and you are no longer afraid to go to a new country because you know that all people are just like you.
