From April 20 to 24, the College of Medical Sciences of UITM hosted Professor Luís Graça – Director of Nursing at the School of Health, in Portugal, a partner institution of the SunRise Alliance.
The Professor’s main research areas include health, nursing, nursing education, pediatric nursing, and health promotion.
During his visit, Professor Graça delivered a lecture as part of the 10th Scientific Seminar of the College of Medical Sciences of UITM entitled “Quantitative Research in Health,” with particular emphasis on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP).
Students of the Nursing programme (both Polish- and English-language tracks) had the opportunity to meet and engage in discussion with the Professor during a Master Class entitled “The Portuguese Nursing Career and Clinical Practice in Portugal.”
Numerous meetings were also held with the staff of the Department of Nursing and the authorities of the College of Medical Sciences, during which experiences were exchanged in the areas of curriculum development and international education, as well as potential opportunities for future scientific cooperation were discussed.
From May 4 to 8, a delegation from the Department of Nursing of the College of Medical Sciences of UITM will pay a return visit to the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, where they will participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) training “Intercultural Practices: Embracing Diversity in Healthcare.”
