UITM is supporting all candidates and extending the cut-off date for the arrival till the end of December.

Even though the number of visas issued to foreign candidates wanting to study in Poland has declined, UITM started the new Academic Year with several hundred International Students. Thanks to the support it provided to everyone who applied for Polish Visa for students.

The stricter and more time-consuming procedures for candidates were introduced in August as a result of the clampdown policy submitted by the new government after evidence of abuses in the system under the previous administration. Polish Consulates in every country now require the applicant to have a decision issued by a Polish Education Board recognizing their foreign diplomas before applying for a Polish visa for students.

Magdalena Louis, Director for International Collaboration and Recruitment at UITM has nothing but praise for the Recruitment Team at UITM that has saved this academic year –  “All universities were hit very hard by the late introduction of the rule requiring recognition of foreign diplomas before the arrival to Poland. In practice, it meant acquiring, legalizing, sending original, translating, and submitting documents for verification to the Polish Education Board. Lengthy and costly process but we have managed to successfully complete the procedures for all candidates who have sent us their documents. However, nearly 100 people didn’t have sufficient time and they will be transferred to the March 2025 intake. The new restrictions are difficult but we are facing them and our applicants get Polish Visa for Students.”

University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Poland has opened the recruitment for the summer term for Aviation Management, Social Work, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity to cope with the demand of the candidates who did not manage to arrive for the winter intake of 2025/2026 academic year.

We understand the frustration and despair but let me assure you, all candidates applying to UITM for March 2025 will receive full support from our team in the procedures necessary to apply for Polish Visa for students. We have over 25 years of experience in teaching in English and also dealing with the candidate and student issues, so trusting us, they will be in good hands” – adds Magdalena Louis.

The new law is expected to come into force on the 1st of July 2025 regulating procedures and requirements not only for candidates but also for Polish Universities recruiting International Students.

UITM has already trained its staff and made several decisions to make the whole process of applying according to the new regulation more “candidate friendly” but it will still require a very early start with the application to allow 3 to 5 months to complete procedures
