We officially welcomed students who start their studies at UITM.
Eleven people from Turkey, Italy, Germany and Portugal are taking part in this year’s edition of the program.
The participants were welcomed at the University of Information Technology and Management by Justyna Berniak-Woźn, PhD -the President’s Representative for Internationalisation of the University, and Dymitro Shcherbak from the International Student Support Office answered all questions concerning student issues and the city of Rzeszów. During the Erasmus Welcome Day, guests from abroad got to know the university and checked how remote learning is organised. They also took part in a walk around Rzeszów.
„The Covid-19 pandemic to a large extent froze the mobility of students and teaching staff, but this academic year we are returning to an active development of „Erasmus+” – informs Justyna Berniak-Woźny, PhD. We have currently got 58 partner foreign universities and the list is constantly expanding. We hope that this year and the following years we will be able to host more and more students from all over the EU and beyond.
Justyna Berniak-Woźny, PhD also emphasises the importance of „Erasmus +”: international mobility of the University’s students and employees is an important element of academic life. Observations, talks and discussions with people of different cultures allow us to share our knowledge and good practices. We also develop intercultural competences. For students, foreign educational experience is an extremely important element of the education process. Therefore, the arrival of students from other universities obliges us to provide these experiences at the highest possible level. Hosting students from other countries is of great value to us, as in this way we enable our students to acquire multicultural competences. It is also a great opportunity to look at our university from the perspective of students from other cultures – and thus to understand our strengths and weaknesses.
The students who will attend the UITM in the winter semester 2021/22 under „Erasmus +” have chosen to study at the following faculties: Aviation Management, International Business Management and IT.
