The HR Excellence in Research award, granted by the European Commission, confirms an institution’s commitment to creating a supportive and professional working environment for researchers and applying the principles of open, transparent, and merit-based recruitment.

The University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) has held the HR Excellence in Research award since 2017. The University is currently implementing its HR Strategy for Researchers and the 2023–2026 Action Plan, comprising 12 actions addressing, among other areas, research ethics, OTM-R, career development, mobility, equality, and well-being. In 2026, the HRS4R Implementation and Monitoring Team was established to oversee the implementation of the Strategy and prepare the University for the next external assessment.
