Christmas meeting for international students.

At UITM there is many foreign students. They come from over 70 countries. That is why every year there is a event that shows them Polish culture.

Usually these events takes place in IQ Club. Recently we had a”Polish Day”, and this time our ISSO prepared „Polish Christmas Party”.

Stories about Christmas traditions in Poland, Christmas songs – that’s how „Polish Christmas Party” prepared for students from all over the world looked like. There were also traditional Polish dishes: borscht with ravioli, dumplings, and apple pie.

More than 100 international students attended the Christmas meeting. At the beginning there were a few games which helped them to integrate. Then they were asked to prepare a dream boards, each student decided to choose few goals for the next year. It’s main aim was to motivate them to follow their dreams and develop their skills and competences. After presenting the vision boards by volunteers, students took park in a lottery. They were able to win small gifts.

After the competitions, it was time for artistic performances. Nursing students, as well as participants of this year’s edition of UITM, has Talent sang Christmas songs. Our winner of UITM has got Talent- Oluwanifemi Okugbe sang „Holy Night”. After little concert in IQ Club our international students also presented dances. In the second part of the evening, the guests had the opportunity to try Polish Christmas dishes traditionally served on the Christmas Eve.

„Polish Christmas Party” is a meeting organized every year by the International Students Support Office. This department is not only responsible for helping foreign students, but also for their integration. The event was financed from the NAWA budget from the Welcome to Poland project.
