Chair of Management

The Chair of Management conducts research in the field of organization and management, concerning e.g. defense economics and management, public sector management, economics and management of migrations; public sector procurement, conflict management, crisis management, contemporary terrorism, state security issues, as well as marketing management, strategic management and health care management.

The object of the Chair’s research interests are also issues of project management, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as human resource management.

The research results and research experience are used by the employees of the Chair during their educational activity, to enrich theoretical lectures with practical conclusions and recommendations.

The aim of the project is to establish international cooperation in order to adapt the Business Model You (BMY) and Design Your Life (DYL) approaches to the needs of individualization and creation of education paths and career planning as well as to develop a methodology for the process, techniques and methods of individualization of education and professional career paths for universities in this area. The main target groups will be scientists working on the project, university management, students and employees of career offices or personnel departments. The project is an extension of the BEAST (Erasmus Plus) and DYLMIC (NAWA) projects, currently implemented by the Centre for Advanced Learning Technologies. The aim of the project is to develop, test and implement solutions for shaping students’ key skills using business model thinking mindset, as well as to build students’ awareness of purposeful development and accurate career planning already during their studies.

Innovation strategies and SMEs’ performance: the mediating role of resource efficiency and green markets

This study aims to empirically prove the impact of innovation strategies on the creation of eco-innovations affecting sustainable competitive advantage and performance of SMEs. The study will develop and empirically test the mediating role of resource efficiency and green markets on sustainable competitive advantage and performance.

The impact of cooperation on business innovations of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Podkarpackie region

The aim of this project is to determine the impact of cooperation between the SME and R&D sectors on the propensity to invest in innovations and the type of innovations of SMEs in the Podkarpackie region.
Research questions are:
1. What is the cooperation of the SME sector with R&D and other entities in the Podkarpackie region in the field of innovation development so far?
2. What is the impact of cooperation between the SME and R&D sector on the scale and quality of innovation?
3. What is the impact of cooperation between the SME and R&D sector on the propensity to invest in innovation?
4. What are the reasons for undertaking or not undertaking mutual cooperation between SMEs and R&D in the area of initiating joint ventures and research?

Shaping a competitive position on the Polish air transport market on the example of the Lufthansa carrier
Project Manager: Olesia Iefremova, M.Sc.
The main aim of the research is to determine ways to evaluate the competitive position of the company on the air services market with respect to competitors on the example of the Lufthansa airline. As part of empirical research, a CAWI (Computer-Aided Web Interviewing) survey will be conducted based on an online research panel, whose aim will be to determine, from the clients’ perspective, factors affecting a competitive position of an airline on the Polish air transport market, with particular emphasis on the Lufthansa carrier. The factors that determine the choice of an airline by passengers, propensity to recommend, consumer preferences, opinions and attitudes of passengers will be examined.
