The previous week was filled with ceremonies and celebrations at UITM. We officially inaugurated the new Academic Year 2023/2024.

Every year, in mid-October, a series of events herald the beginning of a new academic year. Firstly, there is a ceremony in Kielnarowa where all business partners of UITM are invited. After that ceremony, there is a special event for students.

This time, around 200 students were present at our main campus in Rzeszów. Moreover, this year, we were honored to have a special guest – Ambassador of Indonesia, H.E. Anita Lidya Luhulima, a friend of UITM and students from the IISMA scholarship who have joined us this semester, came to begin the new Academic Year with us.

„We are incredibly pleased that so many young people from around the world have decided to join the UITM student community to study in English. Coming to study in another country requires great courage and determination, especially in these challenging times.” said Magdalena Louis, Director of International Recruitment and Collaboration at UITM.

During the ceremony, there was a moment that everyone was waiting for – Matriculation. All students took the oath, and they officially became members of the UITM community. This year, we welcomed students of Programming, Computer Science, Aviation Management, International Business Management, Nursing, and Social Work.

Agata Jurkowska-Gomułka, Ph.D., the Vice-Rector for Science and International Collaboration at UITM, emphasized that the success of internationalizing the University means constantly searching for new, appealing offerings for young people from different regions of the world. Undoubtedly, the attractive educational offerings in English have contributed to building an international student community at UITM. In 2010, we opened a study path, which is still our trademark – Aviation Management. In recent years, we have been gaining a stronger position in African countries, from where students come for new programs such as Nursing and Social Work.

Representing the Student Council, Alireza Hoghoughi Esfahani from Iran welcomed the students: „Today marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in your lives; you are embarking on a new journey. We all came to Poland to start a new life. Thanks to UITM, you will make new friends and achieve many successes” said Alireza.
